Software Freedom Day 2021, jointly organised by the Volunteers of FOSS Sri Lanka and Mozilla Sri Lanka was successfully concluded with 1000+ participants via social media on 18th of September 2021 with the prominent guest speakers as below.
Dr. Srinath Perera (Chief Architect at WSO2 – Apache Foundation Member) shared his knowledge with us on Leading Software Architectures and he gave a worthy startup for the day.
Mr. Anuradha Rathnaweera ( IT Consultant) joined us to talk about Securing FOSS Based Systems. This was a good opportunity to broaden our knowledge .
Mr.Kalinga Athulathmudali (Co-Founder TES.lk – Founder Techකථා) discuss about the Career opportunities with Open Source . It was a great chance to be aware of the career opportunities and what we should improve on our side.
Mr.Gayan Perera (Software Architect & Eclipse contributor) shared his knowledge with us on Eclipse IDE and Open source context around it. He gave us a clear understanding about the environment.
Mr.Sanjeewa Malalgoda(Associate Director, Engineering and Software Architect – WSO2) talked about the Art of digital innovation with open source technologies and it was very interesting.
Mr. Ruwan Ranganatha (Associate Tech Lead – DevOps at Sysco Labs) shared his knowledge with us and this session also was very important.
We accomplished the goal of educating the public about the benefits of using high quality FOSS in education, in government, at home, and in business in short, everywhere.
Software Freedom Day 2021 was rich with valuable speaker sessions and the voice podcast by foss.lk gave an extraordinary experience for the day.
The Clubhouse session was conducted by Mr.Lahiru Madusanka, Mr.Kasun Vithanage, Mr. Dhanushka Chandana and Mr. Ruwan Senarathne on “what to expect at Software Freedom Day ‘21 organized by FOSS Sri Lanka”. This was an exciting part of the day.
In the same way we had a few delightful entertainment moments to make the day more impressive and remarkable.
